A Call for Applications for Outreach Support

St. George’s Outreach Funding Committee will begin in June sending request forms to the agencies and ministries the church currently supports. If you know of a ministry/agency that would like to receive an application, please contact Sandra Beld in the church office at 385-2150 x 246.  All funding applications must be returned to Sandra Beld by August 16th in order to be considered for funds from the 2011 Outreach budget. Please remember this committee will receive more requests than funds available, but be assured they will work diligently as they recommend allocations to the Vestry. The committee is chaired by Greer Cummings.

Helping Flood Victims

Because St. George's has suffered severe flood damage, we are not able to take up collections of food or clothing for flood victims in Nashville.  We recommend that you take your donations to St. Luke's Community House or Second Harvest Food Bank, two Nashville organizations that we support and trust.

Greeters Needed!!

Looking to meet new people? Want to see old friends? Join the Greeter Ministry!

Greeters stand at the Sanctuary doors to greet parishioners and newcomers as they join us for Sunday worship at the 8:45am and 11:15am services. This is a fun ministry that provides you the opportunity to meet your fellow St. Georgians. You will serve at the service you already attend (8:45am or 11:15am).

If you would like to join this vital ministry or learn more about it, contact Beth Ross at 665-9323 or brhope@bellsouth.net.

Looking to get more involved at St. George’s?

Join the Newcomers Committee!

The Newcomers Committee is a group of committed members at St. George’s who strive to communicate God’s love by welcoming visitors and shepherding them in their early days of contact with our church. We need your help to reach out to these newcomers and make them feel welcome!  If you would like to be part of this committee, please contact Leigh Hillenmeyer or Charlotte Ward for more information.

Families in Crisis

Help Us Help Others

Did you know that there is a special church fund used to help people in need buy food, pay their utility bills, and/or purchase gas? Using the gifts designated for the Rector’s Discretionary Fund, St. George’s priests are able to provide financial assistance for individuals and families who are in crisis. With the recent rise in food and gas prices, more and more people are coming to the church for aid. Will you help us help them? Donations of grocery store or gas station gift cards are also appreciated.
