Lenten Prayer Gatherings Begin Wednesday, February 29th at 6:30pm - During Lent this year we will focus on learning to listen to God. We invite you to a gathering for prayer in Johnson Hall during Lent. During this time, the clergy and lay leaders of our church will seek to discern God’s call for us, both personally and as a congregation. On February 29th and March 28th, the service will also include opportunities for healing prayer. “Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.”
St. George’s Preaching Series Presents Archbishop (ret.) George Carey, March 4th - Bishop Carey served as the 103rd Archbishop of Canterbury from 1991-2002. Currently, he is Chancellor of the University of Gloucestershire and President of the London School of Theology. He will preach at the 8:45am and 11:15am services and teach The Rector’s Forum at 10:05am in Johnson Hall. Bishop Carey is also one of the plenary speakers at the C3 Conference, March 1-3.
St. George and the Dragon - St. George’s newest sculpture, “St. George and the Dragon,” is a bronze maquette sculpted by Bruce Wolfe and James Steward in 2011 and is given to the Glory of God and in appreciation for artists and musicians everywhere by Donia Dickerson. It is located outside in the lawn north of the Chapel.
