What is Alpha?
September 9th - November 11thDay Class: 10:30am-12:00pm
Night Class: 5:45pm-8:00pm
Have you ever wanted to talk about your faith with a good friend or family member but didn’t know how? We tell our friends about restaurants or movies we have seen but often aren’t sure how to talk the best news ever: the good news of Jesus Christ. Fortunately, now there is an easy way to meet this challenge: a simple invitation to a dinner party, an ALPHA dinner party.
The first Alpha dinner is a low-key introductory talk about the implications of the Christian faith: is it boring, irrelevant, or untrue? Is there more to life than this? What are the answers to the questions of life? After the introductory dinner, guests are encouraged to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions, with a day or weekend away. It is low-key, friendly, and fun. There is no such thing as a “bad question.”
This fall, Alpha will be offered during the day AND evening. Both start on Tuesday, September 9th and continue through November 11th. The daytime course begins with coffee at 10:30am and ends at noon. The evening course includes dinner beginning at 5:45pm and ends promptly at 8:00pm. Childcare will be offered at both sessions and the Alpha materials are free.
Any questions? Contact Brooks Loomis at 352-2303 or The Rev. Marcia King at 385-2150 x 214. Come, explore the questions of life!
Life After Alpha: An “official” follow-up to the Alpha course!
Begins September 9th5:45pm-8:00pm
Beginning September 9th, we will offer “A Life Worth Living,” a nine week course on living life to the fullest. Based on St. Paul’s Letter to the Philippians and using videos from Nicky Gumbel and small group discussions, “A Life Worth Living” is a practical and positive guide to uncovering a new heart, new purpose, new attitude, and a new confidence to the way we live our lives. Join us during Alpha time for dinner at 5:45pm, worship, and then class ending promptly at 8:00pm. You’ll be glad you did.
