Nursery and Childcare

We extend a warm welcome to you and your child to St. George’s Episcopal Church. We want to provide a safe, clean, and happy Christian environment for the youngest members of our church family. Nursery and childcare workers want each child to feel comfortable and loved.

Nursery is divided into three age groups and is offered at 8:45 am, The Table (9:00am), and 11:15 am church services on Sunday (or the 10:00 a.m. combined church service during the summer). Nursery is also offered during Christian Discipleship (10:05 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. September-May and 9:00 a.m. – 9:50 a.m. June-August).

  • Infants – 6 weeks old to walking – Room 102
  • Toddlers – walking to 2 years old – Room 101
  • 2 years old – 2 by September 1 – Room 106

If you have questions about our nursery, contact Sandra Sarratt, Nursery Coordinator at (615) 385-2150 x 229 or

We encourage parents to allow their children to attend church services with them. However, childcare is offered for 3 year olds through age 5 and is available at the 8:45 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. church services on Sunday (or the 10:00 a.m. combined church service during the summer).

  • 3 year old childcare is in Room 112
  • 4 and 5 year old childcare is in room 113

Please sign in and make a name tag for your child. We provide snacks of juice and vanilla wafers. Please notify the childcare staff if your child has any allergies.

If you leave your child in childcare, we encourage you to go and pick up him/her at Communion so that your family may celebrate the Eucharist together. All children remaining in the childcare rooms will be led into the church for a blessing, including children whose parents are worshipping at The Table.

Younger children may become upset if their parents return with them to their childcare room after the church service to take them to their Christian Discipleship room (the Atrium). Please indicate on the sign-in sheet if you wish for the childcare worker to take your child to his/her room. You will then pick up your child from the Atrium at the conclusion of the Adult Discipleship hour.
