Parenting Series: The Birds & Bees Course
Equipping Parents for Conversations with Young Kids
February 9 - March 23 | 10:05am in Dandridge Hall (upstairs)
Led by the Rev. Sarah Puryear and Mary Helman
Birds & Bees is a simple course that gives parents the tools and confidence to talk to their young kids about sex. The course is designed for parents with kids 10 and under.
"Kids are supposed to be curious and ask questions, that’s part of healthy child development. Of course, just because it’s normal doesn’t mean it’s easy to answer them! Birds & Bees offers simple, practical strategies to help you tackle the talk and become the loving authority on this topic. We will help you:
- Eliminate fear and anxiety
- Feel confident and equipped for conversations
- Get a game plan for your family
- Establish trusting relationships and open communication
- Raise educated and empowered kids!"
Note: No class on February 16 or March 16
Moms' Bible Study
9:00 – 10:30am in Akers Hall (upstairs) | Led by the Rev. Sarah Puryear
This fall, moms with kids of all ages will learn about prayer by reading biblical stories of conversations with God. Join us we look deeper at Moses encountering God in the burning bush, Hannah pouring out her heart to God at the temple, and Jesus taking time to pray alone during his ministry. We’ll be learning about and practicing different forms of prayer along the way! Our time together will center around warm fellowship, conversation, prayer, and of course, Scripture. This group is a great way to deepen your understanding of God’s Word and get connected with other women in a similar season of life. Please register online for the class and for childcare, if needed. Newcomers are welcome at any time!
