Room in the Inn
Responding to homelessness
In the winter of 1986, St. George’s and three other founding churches began a ministry hosting unsheltered individuals during the coldest months of the year. Today, area churches host more than 1,500 people from November through March. St. George’s hosts 12 individuals for an evening and provides a hot meal, shower, clean bed, breakfast, a sack lunch, and the hospitality of two innkeepers.
How to help: Volunteer as a bus driver, innkeeper, or host; or prepare laundry or meals.
