The Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5:1-12, popularly known as the Beatitudes, has been described by St. Augustine as naming the best human morals and the highest Christian standards. But it takes the Holy Spirit working on the inside of us to have these morals and to live up to these standards. Personal, prayers and devotion; thinking more of others; and serving sacrificially, are some of the ways in which the Holy Spirit builds these best attitudes in us.
